Local Website Archive stores information from websites on your hard disk for later browsing or future reference. The program takes quick snapshots of individual web pages and saves the content in the original file format, allowing you to open them with associated applications or online tools such as newsreaders, e-mail clients, etc. This utility is intended to provide quick access to the selected websites for future offline browsing, viewing or researching. It downloads the website layout, text, and images, but it doesn't load multimedia objects such as videos, flash animations, etc. You can search through all your saved pages by keyword, and also export all or the selected items to a self-extracting executable. Other interesting features include a full browser integration, powerful searching capabilities, drag-and-drop functionality, backup and restore functions, among many others. The supported browsers are Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera and IE based browsers. Note that this version is a freeware for personal use only, but the PRO version includes more features such as the ability to find duplicates, highlight text in archived documents, filter banner from a web page, edit text in archived documents, to name but a few. |
